Business Cards for the Self-Employed

Owning a business can be one of the most stressful and time consuming jobs a person can have during their lifetime because of the personal touch that must be applied when the company is trying to get off the ground and running. There is a major difference between owning your own company and being self-employed. Almost everyone owns their own company if you think about it. Look at who started Comcast, Verizon, Barnes and Noble, and other major corporations. At some point during these companies histories they were owned by one person before they became major corporations.

Being self-employed is really difficult because you might work out of your own home or work out of a very tiny office. You are probably the only employee of the company because you just do not bring in as much money to hire another employee. No matter what type of company you run, you need a business card more so than a regular company owner or employee because you need to market yourself, which is your entire business. If you are self-employed you will need to purchase your own health insurance, eye coverage, dental coverage, submit estimated taxes and purchase all of your own business materials.

Business cards are included in business materials needed for self-employment. They are so important because they are the link between you and your clients or prospective customers. You should have at least 500 printed in one shot. Try and hand them out to anyone you run into and post them all over your town to get your business name out to the public as much as possible.
