Choosing the Image for a Business Card

Designing a business card for yourself or for your business can be difficult to do, especially when it comes to figuring out what image to use on the card. The first and most important tip to follow when designing a business card is to not use a generic clip art photo as the image on your business card. Using any clip art image on your business card will tell prospective clients and others that have your business card that you are cheap and don’t care about what the card actually looks like. Clip art is fine for some sections of a website or a report in school but when it comes to a business card, avoid clip art at all costs.

Pick an image that is appropriate to your business. If your business has a logo, have that logo printed on the business cards. If your business does not have a logo, or one that would look good on a business card, you should find an image that relates to your business as much as possible. If you are a freelance writer but don’t have a logo for your writing business then an image such as a computer or a legal pad. Don’t take these images from clip art though. Many business card printing companies will have images that you can choose from on their websites. Make sure you use their images. They have much better quality and look more professional when printed on a business card. Always choose the best image possible to represent your business on your business card.
