Healing Minds and Spreading Happiness: Psychotherapist’s Business Card

482348262_b97ed473c1_mThe psychotherapist differs from the traditional psychiatrist as they do not prescribe medicine and offer various treatment methods for their patients. Therapists cover many aspects of mental health issues from drug and alcohol addiction to depression and recovery from post traumatic stress syndrome.  Therapists require business cards to provide contact information for their clients and to network with fellow therapists.

Every therapist’s business card should clearly state their professional qualifications and any hospital affiliations they may have. Other important information would be contact details such as e-mail address and telephone number, mailing address and website address (if applicable). All information should be clearly and simply written with a professional legible font.

In regards to images, the ideal compliment to the therapist’s business card would be a portrait of the therapist. This way the card acts as an identity badge and provides new clients (who may have trust issues) with a visual reference for their first meeting. A picture of confidence, kindness and professionalism is the perfect photograph for the therapist.

Choose simple color schemes on the therapist’s business card to reflect a crisp professional exterior. Black and white is certainly acceptable in this case as is cream with black print. A nice touch is cream with dark brown ink. Depending on the type of therapist and the therapy (as well as perhaps the potential clientele) a more colorful palette might be appropriate. Purple cards with silver fonts or white lettering can be soothing as can blues and greens.

Consider finishing the card by using the back side to list the type of therapies offered and the expected treatment issues. A bulleted format works well for making a list (i.e. treatment of alcoholism, addiction, depression etc.) as well as a two column grid listing potential issues and potential treatments.

Distribute therapist business cards at behavioral health centers, hospitals, community centers, addiction centers and at conferences to ensure a solid social and professional network as well as a full client schedule.
