Keeping Business Cards
If you own or run a business you should hold onto every single business card that is placed in your hands or the hands of your employees. Why? You never know when you will need to reference one of those business cards again. Keep all of the business cards you acquire in a file or a Rolodex so they aren’t lost amongst the hustle and bustle of a busy office setting.
The business cards could be from other executives, lower level employees, salespeople and many other types of business people. For instance, if you need to hire a new employee in the manufacturing department of your business you have an entire Rolodex to browse through of potential employees to hire.
You could have met these people at a career fair your business hosted or one of your employees could know this person. Either way, you have their business card on file with all of their pertinent contact information.
Keeping all of the business cards you receive on file in a Rolodex will make it easier when you need to contact a potential employee or potential employer. It will also make it easier to contact a potential provider of services for your business. This provider could be new business cards, paper products, electronic equipment and much more.
So, before you throw out the next business card that is handed your way, think about holding on to it for a little while. You never know when you might need to refer to it sometime down the road.
