Promoting Confidence and Health: Dietician’s Business Card
We live in a time when we realize the devastating health effects of obesity and uncontrolled weight gain. The job of the professional dietician is to assist people in choosing the right type of eating and exercise plan for them. They provide professional dietary advice, educate and encourage all of which should be reflected in their dietician’s business card.
The dietician’s business card should invoke thoughts and feelings of clean, fresh, slim and healthy so careful color choice is important. Clean yellows and greens, even oranges and blues (not together) make for good background colors for your business card. The standard white can work here but may come across as too clinical for potential clients looking for a balance between confidant and professional consultant.
The text should be clear and informative on a dietician’s business card and avoid any wording that could be construed as negative. Directly mentioning weight, a lack of physical fitness or any wording that gives the impression of rescuing potential clients from their own bad habits should be avoided at all costs. Words such as “overweight,” “fat,: “obese,” “unhealthy,” or “desperate” are inappropriate. Convey positive and helpful messages with your choices.
Include professional credentials and formal educational degree details on the dietician’s business card. Many potential clients may be unfamiliar with the scope of the dietician’s work and qualifications, mentioning them on your card will make clients feel more confident in your ability to help.
Clipart can work on the dietician’s business card but it isn’t essential. Abstract images of flowers, trees and other life rich positive images may work. Abstract or geometric designs are good too. Avoid images of people, food or even exercise machines.
Distribute the dietician’s business card at area health clubs and gyms, community centers and hospitals.
