Where to Hand Out the Cards

Another popular question making its way around the business world today, especially during this tough economic times, is where business cards should be handed out. Business cards can be placed in holders at the end of your desk, on common tables in the lunchroom at work, on bulletin boards in work and in other public places with the permission of the person in charge of the building.

Many people take marketing into their own hands when they own their own business or are looking for a new job. This includes walking around a major city, such as Philadelphia or New York City, and handing out hundreds of copies of your business card to people that walk by or enter office buildings. This is a great way of marketing oneself during a tough economic stretch. Hundreds of your cards will be thrown directly on the ground or in the trash but some people will take the five minutes to look it over.

Give handfuls of your business cards to your parents, your siblings, your cousins and other family members so that they can hand them out when they are talking about you and your business. It is just easier then them having to write down your information for everyone they speak to regarding your endeavors. Give it a shot because word of mouth marketing is one of the most successful forms of marketing available today.

Make sure you ask a building manager prior to hanging your business card on a bulletin board or placing them in a pile on a counter. Don’t make anyone mad  that can possibly hire you for a job or put your cards in display for all the city to see.
