Flyers Get The Word Out

When you are a small business it can be difficult to get the word out about your goods and services. Flyers can be a great way to let people know that you are in the area. If you take a little bit of time to design something that lets potential customers know about what you offer, it can mean new business.

Flyers are simple marketing materials. They can be distributed door-to-door, mailed out or included in a more in-depth marketing packet. If you have a storefront, you can also keep them on hand to pass out to people that come in, or send home with customers as a way to let them know all that you offer.

Coming up with a good flyer doesn’t have to be difficult. Start out with the basics, such as your company name, address and telephone number. Also, make sure there is a Website on there if you have one. A logo is another key element to include. After you set all this information up, think about what message you want to send out. Will this be an informational flyer or a sales pitch? Do you want to be comprehensive and include a lot of information or just hit a few main goods or services? There is no “right” answer for these questions, but asking them can help frame your design.

Informational flyers can have the same type of details that you would put on a brochure. Photos can be good, along with brief descriptions of the goods or services that you offer. Try to keep text short and to the point so that you don’t discourage people from reading it.

You can also use flyers to announce special sales or promotions that you are having. They are an inexpensive choice and are very effective for getting that type of message out to people. If you want to go this route, be sure you emphasize the text in a way that grabs attention right away. Try a few different fonts and colors to see what pops. You will also want to consider what color paper will work best.

When you order flyers, try to decide how many you will need. If the flyers are strictly informational it may be a good idea to order extra so that you have some on hand. If they are for a sale, try to think about how many you might want to pass out and then add a bit more–just to be on the safe side. Better to have too many than too few.
